This is the first sustainability report for our Specialty Chemicals division in PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG SC), consisting of BRB, CSL and Perstorp. With our combined strengths and legacies, we have joined forces with a shared sustainability strategy that will enable us – and our customers -  to do good with chemistry. Our 2037 strategy reaffirms business-driven sustainability as a key enabler for future success. A glimpse below of what this means: 

    COMMITMENT: Our shared commitment is to enable sustainable innovations everywhere. We are committed to driving change, transforming production and enable new solutions that will help our customers, industries and products everywhere we operate become more sustainable. 
    AMBITION: To clearly set out the direction, we have established a shared long-term ambition of “Zero Negative Impact” – to ensure that our production and products should not cause harm to people, society, or the environment. This can naturally be achieved by simply not producing anything - but to make it come true in the chemical industry, a major shift is needed. It is a bold but important ambition that guides our decision-making and our beliefs.
    TARGETS: Our sustainability targets guide how we move towards our long-term ambition and help ensure progress. We have set 2030 and 2035 targets for water and waste, as well as for greenhouse gas emissions, the latter in line with the 1.5°C Paris Agreement. 
    ACTION: Long-term ambitions and targets mean nothing if they are not transformed into action – so, we have developed roadmaps for every production site and business within PCG SC. Each roadmap outlines the activities required to reach our sustainability targets, and these plans are continuously implemented and further developed. This directly translates into real value for our customers through our Pro-Environment products.
